Anyone can call a slide deck training. Accreditation is the part a surveyor, a state board, or a hiring manager can check — an outside body reviewing how the training is built, delivered, and recorded, against a published standard.

What IACET is.

IACET — the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training — is the nonprofit body behind the standard most continuing-education programs in the United States are measured against. It does not write our courses. It reviews how we build them.

The standard

A published bar, not a private one.

The standard covers how learning objectives are written, how content is developed and kept current, how completion is measured, and how records are kept. It is the same bar applied to every accredited provider, which is what makes the credential portable.

The review

An outside party checks the work.

Accreditation is granted after a documented review of the training process and renewed on a cycle. It is not a one-time badge a provider awards itself, and it is not a claim that rests on our own word.

The record

Proof that survives the shift.

Accredited training produces a durable completion record with the date, the learner, the course, and the credit earned. That record is what you hand to a surveyor months later, when nobody remembers the training day.

Accreditation is only useful if it shows up in the things you actually use: the catalog, the credit, and the certificate.

In the catalog

Accredited courses carry an IACET Accredited badge on the course card.
Not every course in the catalog awards CEUs. The badge is how you tell, before you buy.
The course page lists the credit alongside the run time, so the two are never in doubt.

In the credit

CEUs follow the IACET definition: one CEU per ten contact hours.
So a one-hour accredited course awards 0.1 CEU, and longer courses scale from there.
Credit is awarded on completion of the course, not on opening it.

In the certificate

Every completed course produces a completion record against the learner.
The Onboarding Certificate is twelve accredited courses bundled as one program, earning a single certificate at the end.
Managers pull the records for a whole roster without asking anyone to find their copy.

Why it matters to you.

The same accreditation answers a different question depending on who is asking.

When a surveyor asks how your staff were trained, “we ran an in-service” and “every caregiver completed an accredited curriculum, here is the record” are not the same answer. Accreditation is what turns training into evidence.

The certificate is yours, not the building’s. Because it is accredited, it carries weight at the next review, the next role, and the next employer — rather than expiring the day you change badges.

A standard, not a promise.

Families ask what training the person caring for their mother has had. Accredited training gives that question a real answer, and gives the same answer in every building you run.
